As a child, Jesus demonstrated amazing wisdom before the teachers in the temple courts and before Mary and Joseph (Luke 2:40-52). Those who lived in his hometown acknowledged his wisdom, but simply saw him as someone who grew up among them. They took offense at him and consequently rejected him (Matthew 13:54-57). On many occasions his critics tried to trap him only to find out that his wisdom far exceeded their schemes (Matthew 22:15-22). Jesus Christ is God’s wisdom for believers. He is our righteousness, our holiness, and our redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30). God has hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:1-4). Our praise to Jesus in eternity will focus on his wisdom, strength, honor, and glory (Revelation 5:12).
