Series: Nahum
Description
In the book of Jonah we read how God went to great lengths to bring a warning to the Ninevites so that he would not have to destroy them. They repented and God spared the city. 150 years later, it was a different story. The Assyrian city was again under judgment and this time there would be no reprieve. Nahum’s prophecy tells what happens when God’s patience runs out. Nineveh would be completely destroyed. God is a merciful God who does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. God is also a just God who must punish sin. When his patience reaches its end, God pours out his wrath against sin.
