Series: Who is Jesus?
Description
In John 7, a number of people express opinions as to what they believe about Jesus. Interspersed between these opinions, we find Jesus speaking. Throughout the chapter, we can sense the tension in the air concerning Jesus’ identity. Though some express their thoughts concerning Jesus, few will openly say anything because they fear the religious leaders. When Jesus arrives on the scene at the festival, he interacts with the crowd and talks with them about who he is. Jesus’ own brothers do not yet believe in him. The religious leaders have rejected his claims. The common people seem to be divided in their opinions, and even the temple guard find themselves enamored with Jesus’ teaching. The bottom line is: what do YOU believe about Jesus?
John wrote his gospel to get people to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, so that they would have eternal life through him! So what about you? What do YOU believe about Jesus?
