In this message, we hear the voice of wisdom. Solomon writes about wisdom as if she were a woman. Wisdom cries out to any who will hear. She cries with a sense of urgency making her appeals to the crowds. She addresses those who are naïve, those who despise or reject the truth, and those who are morally insensitive to knowledge. Wisdom cries so that people will turn away from their evil ways and be blessed.
There are two possible outcomes. Those who hear will find hope, if they listen to the voice of wisdom. Those who refuse correction can expect to experience calamity coming upon them like a storm. They are fools, since they have heard wisdom and refuse to change their wicked ways. Even so, when they cry out from their distress, Wisdom will not be there to help. Instead, they will experience the fruits of their rebellion which leads to destruction. On the other hand, those who accept wisdom’s words can experience the peace that comes from living wisely.
As you listen to this message, Wisdom cries out to you. Will you listen? Will you obey?
