Christmas is about Jesus’ birth. We set up nativities and reread the Biblical accounts of the remarkable events surrounding the birth of the Savior. It might seem silly, then to have a Christmas message that focuses on the humanity of Jesus Christ. Isn’t it obvious that if Jesus was born, he must have been human? One would think so.
Why focus on this truth? Simply because the identity of Jesus is at the heart of the Gospel. There is plenty of evidence in the Scripture that Jesus is human. In fact, the Biblical writers also teach that Jesus is human. This truth wasn’t even contested until very late in the New Testament era.
So what difference does it make if Jesus was really a man? In this message we look at ten benefits that Jesus’ humanity provides for us.
If we give up on the truth of Jesus’ humanity (or any other Biblical truth) there are catastrophic consequences.
