Continuing through Jesus’ prayer, we see that he prays for his followers and that Jesus prays for us! As Jesus prayed for his followers, he prayed that God would set the believers apart according to his truth which is His Word. As the Father had sent Jesus Christ into the world, so Jesus was sending his disciples into the world. As he did, he did not merely pray for his disciples, but Jesus prays for us as those who would come to know Him as a result of the spreading of the truth by His disciples. One of Jesus’ primary concerns is for complete unity among his followers. This will eventually be fulfilled in eternity.
