Speaker: Pastor Brian Hill
Description
As Peter opens his letter to the churches, he begins with a brief description of himself as a servant (or slave) and apostle of Jesus Christ. He then describes the recipients of the book as those who had received from God a faith as precious and privileged as that which Peter and his associates (or fellow Jewish believers) had received. In his description, he attribute full deity to Jesus Christ calling him our God and Savior.
Peter then greets the readers with a customary Christian greeting with a special twist that introduces a theme that will run throughout his letter – knowledge of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This message looks at the important themes in the first two verses and considers how they apply to life today.
