Description
As human beings, it is so easy to find fault with others. Amazingly, it is just as easy to excuse our own behavior when we do the same things. This is hypocritical. We use a different standard when judging ourselves than we do when evaluating the words, actions and attitudes of others. In other words, we think we see everyone else’s fault clearly, but have difficulty seeing our own faults. I call this “Broken Mirror Syndrome.” God is NOT like us. His judgments are true. They are not biased. God knows everything and sees everything, so he is able to judge based on truth.
When we judge others and give ourselves a pass, we are without excuse. God’s judgment is based on truth. It is inescapable. Yet, God is not merely a God of anger and wrath, God, in his kindness, withholds his wrath. This kindness calls people to repent and come back to him. Though God is currently restraining his wrath, one day it will come. God’s judgment is certain, and when it comes it is true!
