Description

Many people (perhaps most) assume that their deceased loved ones are in heaven.  They will say, “She was a good person,” or “He was a great guy.”   So, do good people really go to heaven?  To phrase it another way, Can a person get to heaven by being good?

While people may give you a number of answers to this question, the question we really should be asking is: Does God say that good people go to heaven?  Since God is the one who determines who enters, we ought to pay attention to what he says on the subject.

In the Bible we see that all people are sinners.  We were born with a sinful nature that we demonstrate early and often.  The penalty for our sin is eternal separation from God – what the Bible calls the “second death.”  What about good deeds?  What about religious observance?  Can these help me get to heaven?

This message looks at the question: do good people go to heaven?  It examines what God has revealed in his word about it.  The next message will look at how a person can know for certain that they are on their way to heaven.

If you would like to know more about being forgiven and being assured of your place in heaven, please feel free to contact us.  We would love to share with you how you can know for certain that you are on your way to heaven!
