- We believe that the Bible, in its original writings from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, is the verbal, inspired Word of God, and that it is our final authority in faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21; I Cor. 14:37). We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration (all words in every part) of the Scripture. We believe in the literal, historical, and grammatical interpretation of Scripture.
- We believe in a literal 24 hour 6 days of Creation (Gen. 1:31; Ex. 31:17).
- We believe in one God, who co‑equally exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (I John 5:7; Acts 2:32‑33).
- We believe that the entire human race, by an act of sin on the part of Adam and Eve, was plunged into sin and that spiritual birth is necessary in order to be saved (Rom. 5:12‑21 with Gen. 3:1‑24; John 3:1‑8).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a Virgin (Matt. 1:23; Isaiah 7:14). And that He lived a sinless life (Heb. 4:15).
- We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ (John 10:30, 37, 38).
- We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that all who believe on Him are justified solely on the ground of the blood which was shed on Calvary’s Cross (Rom. 5:8‑10).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was literally and bodily raised from the dead, that He ascended into heaven, and is there now, as our Intercessor (Matt. 28:5, 6; Rom. 8:34).
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, and as such He is our abiding Comforter and Helper, that He convinces men of sin, reveals the truth, and energizes believers in matters of prayer and service. We believe that He never exalts Himself, but only Christ (John 14:16, 17; II Thess. 2:7; Psalm 139:7‑10; John 16:13‑15).
- We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved; that the saved will be eternally with the Lord, and that the unsaved will be in everlasting and conscious punishment in Hell (I Cor. 15:1‑15; John 5:28, 29). We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent and pre‑tribulational return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones; and His subsequent return to earth, with His saints, to establish His millennial Kingdom. We believe in the bodily resurrection and the judgment of the unbelievers after the millennial reign of Christ (I Thess. 4:13‑18; I Cor. 15:51‑57; Acts 24:15; Rev. 20:12).
- We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit takes place at the time of conversion and is the act of placing the believer into the body of Christ. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a second work of grace, nor is it manifested by unusual signs, such as speaking in tongues (I Corinthians 12:13).Therefore, we do not believe in speaking in tongues, divine healers, and the extra-biblical revelation known as prophetic utterances. As non-charismatic Christians, we differ with those of the charismatic persuasion on certain beliefs and practices. We also believe that these specific differences render it unadvisable to fellowship and work together in the local church or other organizational structure. Therefore, no person or persons who practice, teach, or advocate speaking in tongues or any other related charismatic teachings or practices (e.g., healing, etc.), shall be deemed eligible for membership. NOTE: Tongues were for a sign to Israel and established foreign languages (Acts 2).This movement is unclear about the issues of personal salvation and Biblical separation (I Cor. 12-14; Heb. 2:3,4; James 5:13-16; Rev. 22:18, 19; John 3:3; II Cor. 6:14-18).
- We believe that all true believers are kept eternally secure by the power of God through the new birth, the indwelling and sealing of the Holy Spirit, and intercession of Christ (John 5:24; John 10:27‑30; I Peter 1:23; Ephesians 4:30).
- We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are not means to salvation, but are visible signs and seals of the facts and realities of salvation. We believe that water baptism by immersion is a public confession of Christ as Savior and Lord; it is a symbol of one’s union, by faith, with Christ in death, burial and resurrection, and therefore is to be administered only to those who have given evidence of faith in Christ as Savior (Matt. 28:18; Matt. 3:16; Romans 6:3‑5). We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance instituted by the Lord for observance by His children until He comes again. The broken bread represents His body that was broken for us at His crucifixion; the cup represents His shed blood for the atonement of our sins (Matt. 26:26‑30; I Cor. 11:23‑28).
